Into the surreal sunrise… πŸŒ„

To all my readers I wish a Happy Halloween! πŸŽƒ I hope you enjoy my poem.

Into the surreal sunrise

πŸŒ…πŸŒ…

Behind me

A whispering

Chilling

Voice

Calls out…

I gulp

Look around

And find

Darkness!

πŸŒ„πŸŒ„

I’m walking

Over

A deserted

Cornfield

It’s eerie

Shadows

Jump

Out

As I walk

πŸŒ…πŸŒ…

I notice

A speck

Of light

In

The distance,

Suddenly

The sky

Lights up

Vibrant colours

πŸŒ„πŸŒ„

Magenta

Scarlet

Umber

Cerise

Fade

Slowly,

To

White

Pure Sunlight

πŸŒ…πŸŒ…

Changing Seasons #Autumn πŸ‚

As the nights draw in summer is fading away and the cool Autumn days are here.  I was inspired by John Keats poem To Autumn which I posted last week for national poetry day.  For this week’s post, I’ve written a poem based on the autumn season.

Is it Autumn?

πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚

The chill

Of the wind

Blows strongly

Today

I’m wrapped up

Warm and cosy

πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚

I see

A gold carpet

Leaves twirling

Scattering

Subtle tints glinting

In subdued sunlight

πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚

Wild fruits

Show vibrant hues

A stags

Silhouette

Cuts in through

Hazy morning mist

πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚

Forest fungi

Begin slowly unfurling

Migrating birds

Circling

Through cool air

Flying far away

πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚

It’s definitely

Autumn

Now!

Waiting with #breast cancer

Photo by Karolina Grabowska on Pexels.com

Anyone who’s experienced cancer treatment, or is going through treatment at the moment will identify with the endless appointments and time spent waiting. It’s a lonely time, particularly with coronavirus.

I’m Waiting…

Waisting time

Again

My life ticks

Away

No book πŸ“–

No phone πŸ“ž

No newspaper πŸ“°

To settle into

As coronavirus reigns

Boredom remains

🌷🌸 🌷🌸🌷

One hour

Or three

Today

I’m feeling lucky

Maybe

Two hours…

My legs feel dead

I’ve been sat so long

I’m past caring

The outcome,

Whatever

🌷🌸🌷🌸🌷

I’m surrounded by

Pink

Flowery pictures;

🌷 🌷

I feel smothered

In this moment

My name is called

Reality beckons me now

I have breast cancer

Why is it

Pink

and flowery?

In with the #new!

In with the #new!

This week, I’m looking to the future and whatever it may have in store.  Looking at things in a positive way is something that’s always been important to me when writing my posts. Having a positive outlook on life is not always easy but it’s really important in difficult times like the present.

I know there are lot’s of people out there, who are really frightened about leaving their house and going out..

I’ve written a new poem to reflect our very troubled times. The title could be viewed as misleading; although I think we are all looking to the future at the moment and hoping for some more productive times ahead.

A new direction  –  to our future…

But where are we heading?

How to start?

Or where are we going?

Have we lost direction?

Too many things happening

Nothing is the same now

No one listens anymore

But, did they ever, though?

Or learns, from past mistakes

What is the future now?

Trapped inside this spiral world

A first step forward

Is now

Don’t look back…
